ASSIGNMENT THREE
Wendy Wang - ChrisHawkeWendy Wang, teacher of Communication University of China, passed away from us this morning, at her age of 75. Wendy was born in a small village in Wangning, Hainan province, China. At her 18, she entered Communication University of China. After four years, she finished her college study, and then became an English teacher in that college to make her little girl’s dream come true. At her 22, she came across John, a man turned out to be her husband for the rest of her life.
She was an ordinary woman, who had two children. One of them was a boy, who became an engineer. The other was a girl, who became a psychologist. She was a successful teacher, working hard. Her student regarded her as one of the most kind and knowledgeable teacher in their lives. She was also a successful mother. John spent a lot of time worked outside, so besides paying much concern about her students, she must also take care of her own two kids, and she had done all of them successfully.

“She wished to have a simply and ordinary life.” said one of her students. And she did. Though she was not be known by most of people in the world, but she did successful in her own life. “She is my best wife and our children’s mother.” her husband said to all of the audiences in her funeral.

ASSIGNMENT FOUR
Write three pitches that you and some classmates can actually produce with the time and resources available to you.

The audience will be English speaking You Tube viewers. Your pitch should offer them something they cannot see elsewhere. This means slice of life and human interest stories are OK, but try to come up with some hard issue pieces or stories related to breaking news as well. Foreigners love to hear about: The Olympics, counterfeit or dangerous products, the environment and global warming, martial arts, student trends, China's economy, interesting tourist destinations, and anything unusual or surprising. Think about a story you would like to hear about in another country, and try it here.

Also think about the big stories in the world, and look for a Chinese connection. Are there Iraqi students here? Does China have an Islamic insurgency? What do Chinese students think about the US presidential race? Who is in charge at the Palestian Embassy here now that the Palestinians have split amid civil war?

Your pitch should include the names of the people you plan to interview, and the shots you plan to include.

Your pitch should include the names of the people you plan to interview, and the shots you plan to include.
1) two tie generations gap
Interviewee: some mothers and children, sociologist Chen Yiyun
The issue of two tie generation gap is becoming more and more hot topic today. Some people said that the causes due to parents, while some people think that the children should take the responsibility. But let us don not judge it all by ourselves. Let us listen to how the mothers’ and children’s opinion, and how the scientists think about it. May one should learn a lot from this research.
2) Chinese Harmonious Society
Interviewee: President Hu Jingtao
China is developing in a fast speed. It raises a lot of concern all over the world. Lots of people in the world especially in western countries think it would bring threaten their counties even the whole world in some time. Today, we will focus on this topic and make out that how the Chinese government is going to make out their plan, and give one some ideas upon this issue.
3) Olympic Games
Interviewee: Jacques Rogge from IOC, Liu Qi from BOCOG, the travelers come to China
The Olympic Games will be held in China next year; Beijing is trying hard to make itself the proper place to hole the game, meanwhile, it is facing a great pressure from the outside world. A lot of people think that Beijing should not have the right to hold this game for its bad weather, environment, and also, for the Darfur issue rose presently. Today we invited president Jacques Rogge from IOC and president Liu Qi together to talk about this issue. Hoping that would provide you some useful information,

ASSIGNMENT FIVE
First of all, this is a good article. The author had done a lot of research in this event, but used a lot of sources to provide her ideas, but when one goes through it carefully, one can find some sources are not credible enough and reveal the author’s bias in the article. I would like to list them as follow. 1) Some of the quotations are not credible enough. For example, instead quote some quotations directly, the author just paraphrase them in her own word. It is difficult to convince the readers. 2) Some of the attributions are not specific enough. For example, somewhere she used the attribution like “Chinese government said”, “Chinese official said”, “China said”, “some experts said”, and so on. 3) Some of the attributions are not authoritative enough. For example, “a 55-years old farmer”, “experts inside and outside”, “editor of the Journal of Global Health Governance and an assistant professor at Seton Hall University”, and so forth. 4) Used one certain attribution too many times, such as “the FAO” and “PLoS ONE”. In my opinion, the news is contains some kind of the author’s bias. It can be found from the sources she referred to. In the article, the author kept mentioning that the blue ear disease raised concerns all inside and outside China and blaming Chinese government have not taken a quick and effective reaction. But I had asked the people around us, it seems worry them not so much. And there is little sign that the disease would spread over The United State and the western countries. Considering Chinese food concern and disqualified products being discussed during these resent months, I think may she just write the article to represent her opinion on this event.
