She was the only one that earned "the queen of talk show"after Oprah Winfrey. Her unique and sharp angle of view, her intelligence, optimism, and friendliness made her famous all over the world. She got her bachelor's degree of International Journalism in Communication University of China. Then she went to Pecking University and got her master's degree of media communication. ASSIGNMENT FOUR
Write three pitches that you and some classmates can actually produce with the time and resources available to you.

The audience will be English speaking You Tube viewers. Your pitch should offer them something they cannot see elsewhere. This means slice of life and human interest stories are OK, but try to come up with some hard issue pieces or stories related to breaking news as well. Foreigners love to hear about: The Olympics, counterfeit or dangerous products, the environment and global warming, martial arts, student trends, China's economy, interesting tourist destinations, and anything unusual or surprising. Think about a story you would like to hear about in another country, and try it here.

Also think about the big stories in the world, and look for a Chinese connection. Are there Iraqi students here? Does China have an Islamic insurgency? What do Chinese students think about the US presidential race? Who is in charge at the Palestian Embassy here now that the Palestinians have split amid civil war?

Your pitch should include the names of the people you plan to interview, and the shots you plan to include.
1. On Sep22, 2007the result of the survey on satisfaction of public transport system by 8environmental organizations in Beijing was publicized. About 3000citizens took part in the survey. The satisfaction is less than 10%. The result proved that the public transport system needs great improving in future. I would first shoot the pictures of different transports. Then interview some citizens who are about to take bus or subway. And I will also interview some experts in the environmental organizations, which started the survey.
2. Mid-autumn festival is coming. On Sep22,2007 Beijing Hygiene inspection Institution claimed to public that more than 90%of the selected mooncakes are qualified. Meanwhile, 8 kinds of mooncakes in 5 companies are inspected to contain coliform. 45 factories and 118 kinds of mooncakes are inspected. According to the “food security bill”, the unqualified factories were punished. I will interview some of the illegal factories and relative officers in Beijing Hygiene Inspection institution, and shoot some pictures of their making mooncakes.

3. An agency cheated 141 ungraduate students in the name of introducing teaching in home work., but not a single student called the police for help. Some of them even still didn’t know about it when the police called them. A company employee called the police, due to the unpaid situation. The boss was a female graduate student who is still at university. I will interview some of the ungraduate students and the employee who called the police and the policemen in charge of this case. If it permits, I will also interview the boss of the company. I will shoot the pictures of the company, both outside and inside.

ASSIGNMENT FIVE
PIG DISEASE I think there is bias in the news. The reporter said,"Some experts, both inside and outside China, are skeptical, citing the government's handling of the avian flu outbreak in 2004 and SARS in 2002 and 2003."She didn’t give a confirmed evidence to prove the credibility of this sentence. The examples she selected are mostly obliviously disadvantageous to China.eg,"Though there's no evidence that the virus poses a threat to humans, there are signs that diseased pigs already have entered the food supply either directly because farmers may be trying to pass off diseased pigs as healthy ones,"She has no evidence, but she still expressed it in this way.
Some facts are not credible in the news. The reporter said "At least 26 of China's 33 provinces and regions have announced they found diseased pigs within their borders.".In fact, according to Agriculture Adminisreation of China June 12,2007, only 22 provinces were confirmed to suffer the disease. Also the reporter said, the spreading of the swine disease"driving pork prices up nearly 87 percent in a year and helping push the country's inflation rate to its highest levels since 1996." According to the chief veterinarian Jia Youling in China, the dying rate of pig in China is between 6% and 8% every year, which means 30 to 40 million pigs in a year. The dying amount that comes from blue ear disease is still in the range, and is not powerful enough to affect the national pork price. He also said the reasons of the rising of pork prise lie in the little amount of livestock on hand, the high price of feed, while the disease is not the main reason.
There's one point we have to understand about blue ear disease. This disease is found in the US in 1987, and spread to Europe and Asia in 1991 and 1992. China suffered the pig disease in 1996. The disease was at first threatening the female pig and piglet. Then in 2006 the virus variated and threatened all the pigs.
