ASSIGNMENT FOUR

1.Recently,the teenager of mainland China are eagerly creating and using a kind of special words consists lots of untypical characters and symbols. They call it "Words from the mars". While actually some athority regard this phenomenon as a subversion of the traditional Chinese. I'd like to interview some teeanager who use it, and some athorities that have someting to say.

Very good

2.It is a potential trend, which is not openly known but it is true, that lots of teenagers treats homosexual relationship as a kind of fashion rather than his or her real needs. The public has changed gradually more open to homosexual parteners, yet still the attitude of those teenagers are not correct. I would like to interview some one who gets involved to it, and an experts of related area.

I'm not sure what you mean, but it sounds interesting.

3. As the stock market gaining such great increasement, people's daily cost escalates as a result. Especially for the estate price. A common citizen is facing the awkward situation that it may cost him a life time without eating or drinking, yet still he cannot afford an apartment. Thus I would like to interview some estate manager or national athority to discuss this tough issue.

Good.

ASSIGNMENT FIVE

Basically in my opinion, “Pig Disease in China Worries the World-Lack of Data Impedes Research” is a comprehensive report, yet some weaknesses due to the correspondent's vague view of the report make us confusing about the whole event. Trough heated discussion on class, our group determined she focused mainly on what the title says, "the swine disease threating the whole world comes from China". But several details she lists do not support her piont of view. For instance, at the top of the 5th page, the first two paragraphes about Vietnam's swine disease reveal that China does not contributes to it, thus it is not a strong detail to back her view.
So this report leaves us a question which bothers me for quite a long time - should a story have its tendency towards what the correspondet holds, or should it be just accurate and objective? We know there is no absolute objective on news reporting based on different perception and need of various area or country, yet I want to know a correspodent should list resources selectively, or all?

(sorry for the delay of this assignments, I was physically uncomfortable last night, thus I can only finish it this morning.)

I agree the point on the swine in Vietnam was confusing. It seemed to serve a double purpose. If you didn't read it carefully, it made it sound like the virus spread to Vietnam. Read more carefully, it seemed to be making the point that pig diseases can sometimes sicken humans. It also had the feeling of being added at the last minute. Let's ask the writer about this one.

In an assignment like this, you are supposed to answer the questions, not ask them.
