Ladies and gentlemen,

Due to her persistent efforts, she became familiar with managerment arts and formed her own theory of management and service.
In the last 20 years, she not only set up her own travel agency, but also made it a great success.
However, despite her success as a professional woman, she is more of an excellent mother of her twins. Her daughter and son are grateful to her as same as we are. Thank you!
ASSIGNMENT FOUR
Write three pitches that you and some classmates can actually produce with the time and resources available to you.
The audience will be English speaking You Tube viewers. Your pitch should offer them something they cannot see elsewhere. This means slice of life and human interest stories are OK, but try to come up with some hard issue pieces or stories related to breaking news as well. Foreigners love to hear about: The Olympics, counterfeit or dangerous products, the environment and global warming, martial arts, student trends, China's economy, interesting tourist destinations, and anything unusual or surprising. Think about a story you would like to hear about in another country, and try it here.
Also think about the big stories in the world, and look for a Chinese connection. Are there Iraqi students here? Does China have an Islamic insurgency? What do Chinese students think about the US presidential race? Who is in charge at the Palestian Embassy here now that the Palestinians have split amid civil war?
Your pitch should include the names of the people you plan to interview, and the shots you plan to include.
1. Chinese food are preverlent in all over the world. However, the correct interpretations of the dishes are still in hot dispute. As the 2008 Olympic Games is approaching, the authorities appeal to the folks for the ideal translation of Chinese famous food. My plan is to inteview the linguistic professors and translators of their opinions. I will also go to the folk-custome sightseeing place, to check their translations. Meanwhile, I will inteview people, including the college students, to see if they are interested and if they have participate in it. If possible, i will also go to the apartment in charge the look at the guage of this activity.
shot: bilingual menu of a reataurant.
2. The pressure on the senior students is commen in the globe. In China ,what probloms are they facing? What are their plans after graduate? TO continue their study in China? Or try to pass GRE tests? Or hunt jobs? Or to try hard to gain certain certificate before granduate? I plan to inteview some of them, listen to their plans and their afflictions or worries. I also want to inteview the expert , record their advice to the students and the way to ease pressure.
shot: the hard-working students in the classroom & the sweaty students hunting jobs.
3. The safety of Chinese products and food have recently been in hot water. But in fact how serious is of the problom? Is it really like what America is clamouring? My plan is to collect materials of the recent quality reports of Chinese food and products, the American recall issues and Sino-US trade disputs. Then I will inteview an ecnomic expert in our school. Is the quality of the Chinese products lower than before? Why there are so many affairs happening recently? News about American unqualified products increases accordingly, so what is the real purpose of these quality-related affairs?
shot: a press-clip of the Chinese unqualified products reported by US
ASSIGNMENT FIVE------PIG DISEASE
BIAS
1. The paragraph of vaccine Her reason is very persuasive, but she leaves out two points:
(1) Did other countries, including America, make money from vaccines when there was an epidemic first broke out in their realm?
(2) Did other countries insist on the remaining of the patents and royalties of the vaccine they invented? Is it a convention for all countries?
2. According to the article, it's likely that China would rather delay the finding of the cure than share the tissue samples in order to make a fortune from the vaccine. (Is this a right conclusion? ) But the point is, how much money will China lose due to the death of bunches of pigs? Is it less than the money made from the vaccine? Or more? Is it worth for China to do this? Obviously the author omits it.
About Reporting Methods
1. To express one's own idea by selecting materials, though all the materials are true.
2. Using eloquent evidence to express ideas.
3. Finding enough sources and related stories.
4. To introduce the situation is far from enough, we should add the deep analysis to the superficial phenomenon.
My personal views
A: There is an old saying in China which is similar to " Do not wash your dirty linen in public" . Maybe this old tradition contributes to China's reluctance to publicize the outbreaks of SARS and bird flu.
B: In recent years, China and its media increasing realize that there is no good in hiding this kind of information. So more and more related rules are carried out to ensure the transparence of catastrophic news. Though we still lag behind, but we are making progress.
C: The functions of media vary from country to country. They are the objective outcomes of each country's specific history and coincident with the inner structure of the society. From the day China's modern media were born, they are the organs of parties. They are not used to make profits, but to publicize certain party's policy and creed. So the media should never be supposed to harm the party's interest. Since the Communist Party is the sole one in the saddle, if the media criticized the government too severely, maybe the whole country will become turbulent.
D:We Chinese are taught to love our country even we are quite small. Patriotism is a character we value high. Thus, we cannot stand any slander about China. Even the American news is telling the truth, as this pig-thing, we are reluctant to accept the truch. We just can't. China, which is ruled by Communist Party of China now, is our belief. We love China, so we support CPC.
E: Each country has its own history and tradition, why they all should accord to America's standard? Who gives America the right to act like the monarch of the world?
