Pakistan to propose changing Islamic rape laws
Pakistan government plan to amend rape laws, a ruling partly lawmaker said on July 31. Under Islamic law adopted by Pakistan in 1979, a woman must produce four Muslim witnesses to prove she was raped, and currently, she fails. The reworked law will change this situation, a chairwoman for parliament’s special committee said, “This will be a historic change and it will end decades of miseries for women.” The draft legislation will be submitted soon.

OBITUARY: Linn Lin
Linn Lin, a pioneer in aeronautic reporting, died on December 2 at her home in Hainan province, of a brain hemorrhage. She was 67.

We know her because she was the first journalist in space in 2016. David Wang, Linn’s companion, praised her passion for her work.

David Wang: “You could say she was genuinely interested in aviations and she wanted to lay out the best to people.”

She spent her entire career in radio and TV broadcasting science events, especially the series report on China’s “Shenzhou” aerospace plan. She speaks in a snuffle. Still, the voice had authority.

Anna Zeng, a long time friend, said Linn "lived in a peculiar relation to outer space."

Anna: “When we were children, she would ask which star do you want to travel, and that's something nobody ever asked. I said Mars then she told me I should bring more clothes to there because it’s a very cold place.”

After her retirement, Linn learned gardening and enjoyed her family. During this time, she wrote and published his memoir. Ms. Linn is survived by her husband James, and a child.

No service is planned. The family will follow Linn’s last wish. Her property will be donated to China’s western development plan.

ASSIGNMENT FOUR
Write three pitches that you and some classmates can actually produce with the time and resources available to you.
1.Will the Taiwanese problem be an important factor which decides China's prospect?
2.Talking about economic period, this year is the sixth year for the American economy extended. Will a financial crisis come?
3.What impact dose Jepenese prime minister's dismission give to Ameria.
The audience will be English speaking You Tube viewers. Your pitch should offer them something they cannot see elsewhere. This means slice of life and human interest stories are OK, but try to come up with some hard issue pieces or stories related to breaking news as well. Foreigners love to hear about: The Olympics, counterfeit or dangerous products, the environment and global warming, martial arts, student trends, China's economy, interesting tourist destinations, and anything unusual or surprising. Think about a story you would like to hear about in another country, and try it here.

Also think about the big stories in the world, and look for a Chinese connection. Are there Iraqi students here? Does China have an Islamic insurgency? What do Chinese students think about the US presidential race? Who is in charge at the Palestian Embassy here now that the Palestinians have split amid civil war?

Your pitch should include the names of the people you plan to interview, and the shots you plan to include.

ASSIGNMENT FIVE
The reporter said, “The virus has been devastating pig communities throughout China for more than a year, wiping out entire herds, driving pork prices up nearly 87 percent in a year and helping push the country's inflation rate to its highest levels since 1996.” I wonder that does the pork prices’ markup is a reason for the inflation or a reflection of the inflation. Or they interact with each other? “Some experts, both inside and outside China, are skeptical” I think this sentence is not precisely. The reporter should generally tell us how many of those experts and most of them belong to what kind of organization. All in all, I think she has no bias and her information is abundant.
