ASSIGNMENT FOUR
Write three pitches that you and some classmates can actually produce with the time and resources available to you.

The audience will be English speaking You Tube viewers. Your pitch should offer them something they cannot see elsewhere. This means slice of life and human interest stories are OK, but try to come up with some hard issue pieces or stories related to breaking news as well. Foreigners love to hear about: The Olympics, counterfeit or dangerous products, the environment and global warming, martial arts, student trends, China's economy, interesting tourist destinations, and anything unusual or surprising. Think about a story you would like to hear about in another country, and try it here.

Also think about the big stories in the world, and look for a Chinese connection. Are there Iraqi students here? Does China have an Islamic insurgency? What do Chinese students think about the US presidential race? Who is in charge at the Palestian Embassy here now that the Palestinians have split amid civil war?

Your pitch should include the names of the people you plan to interview, and the shots you plan to include.
Part one
Nowdays, it is too difficult for the college students to get hired after their graduation. Some of the students have to study further as postgraduates at home or abroad. Do they really want this? Every year nealy more than half of the college graduates remain unemployed. As they get the better education, they are not willing to do some jobs like servents or washers. How can they face the harsh reality? Do they have any plan for the future? According to the news’ theme, I will interview some college graduates in different universities of different standers like the famous one, Beijing University, ordinary one, Beijing Jili University. And also I will try to contact the officer of Ministry of Education. If I cannot get the permission to interview the officer, I will find some other experts who is specialized in sociology or education.

Part two
As China opens up to the outside world, Chinese people open their mind to the multiple culture, especially western culture. For example, the pop American drama, movies, and reality show. The teenagers are too easy influenced by the western culture. But do they really get benefits? I will interview some high school students who like Amercan culture and who don’t. at meantime, I will contact theirs parents and teachers to get more information.

Part three
Migrant workers contribute a lot to the construction of modern cites, like Beijing, while bringing along with them so many problems, including the education of their children. As the 2008 Olympics approaches, these children are very pleased to be involved in the joint effort of welcoming the big event. The Chinese Young Volunteers Association of Communication Univercity of China, or CYVA of CUC held a programme to help the migrate kids to take pictures related to Olympics and awarded them for their efforts. So I will come to the evening party and interview the children of migrant workers, the organiger, and the volunteers.

Assignment Five

Final Analysis This news story encompasses all kinds of facts from different sources, which includes interviewing with local people, FAO, experts, professors, analysts from CITIC Securities as well as officials of Chinese government to support her conclusion. Although some of the facts are not reliable or proper, the whole story is trustworthy to most of the people. However, the story is biased to some extend by claiming Chinese government for its irresponsibility and not sharing the information with the public. The story mentions little about the effort that the Chinese government made, and it contains little comments from Chinese government officials which compared to other sources are not enough.. From this news story we learn that before we get down to the report we should make all-around investigation and researching, let the facts speak for themselves. Of we want to promote our personal opinion through the report, we could omit or blur some of the facts inattentively. Also clarify the source can make the story more reliable. The author has excellent writing skill. The first two paragraphs as delayed lead are very attractive. But the story is not well organized in logical order. For example, the person Huang’s identity in the last paragraph of page 2 remained unknown until page 4, readers may feel confused. Overall, it is a very good report that we can learn a lot from..
