A Taliban suicide car explodes in Afghan market town,kills 21 civilians and 4 canadian soldiers die in the nearby militant attack. Before the violence,the western military has deployed 8000 troops into the south Afghan and mostly are Canadians,British,Dutch.and Americans. Untill now,7 foreign soldiers have been killed since NATO took command on sunday.

Thank you for being here today! 65 years ago,a beautiful girl appeared in my life.When I first saw her,she seemed arrogant and entirely live in her own world.But later she became my forever friend.That girl was my Brenda,the chairman of “Angel’s charity”,Mrs Zhang chendi!Happy birthday my dear! Brenda in my heart was soft and sweet,but also she had been strong that she was able to give whatever had happened! She graduated from Communication University of China and got a master degree of International Journalism.When she was 23,she got her first job,a news editor in CCTV. 2 years later ,she decided to quit and joined into the famous media company Viacom and became a PR agent.During this time,her hard work helped her gain the boss’ appreciation.So the company sent her to America,studying at the Colombia University,majored in culture communication. I think she could never forget the time of studying abroad beacause at that time she met her future husband,Mr Hu zemin.Today ,he also come with Brenda.Look at him,how sweet they are! After finishing the study,Brenda was back to Beijing and became an independent and professional TV Producer in Phoenix TV station.Her programms were very popular,such as <<Women and city>>,<<The warm life>> and so on.. She was busy but she was the person who had most hobbies I had ever seen.She liked travelling,shopping,dancing,singing,and all of these she could do very well.She always said:〝Enjoy your life and be more happier!〞 When she was 40 years old ,she stopped the TV works and put all her attention into her family.And 10 years ago,she and her husband founded the “Angel’s charity” for helping the poor people. Somebody asked me to describe what it was that made Brenda so special.I could take hours on that subject and still have plenty to say,but for now,let me say this: She has a heart of gold;she loves life;she is so fun and her smile could light up a room!

China is no more a big country of bicycles but a country of large quantity of cars. Especially in Bejing,there are more and more cars appear in the street,and the problem of traffic jam is becoming seriours.
1. Recently in Beijing,It’s hard to go to a driving school and pass the examination,because there are so many people learning driving,you must sign up previously.The oldest people who learns driving are over 75 years old,the youngest are 18.( I’ll interview some learners ,the old person is better,to let him share his experience.)

Because of the Olympics,Bejing government is spending huge sum of money decorating the main streets,like planting beautiful trees,putting potted landscape,installing sparking lights and so on.But there are many problems covered ,the rivers are still polluted ,some places which we don't go to it often are still dirty….
1. Taking picture of the renewed Beijing street,e.g Wangjing street .
2. Interviewing the workers who are in charge of beautifying the ciy.
3. Interviewing the citizens,let them say their comment ,feeling,complains and suggestions.

ASSIGNMENT FIVE

The analysis of the pig disease story.
The source of the story is quite credible. It introduce the information from the government, the villagers and some experts. At the first page of this news, the writer summarized the pig disease story and screetly put her own opinion in the story.

But we aren’t superstitious that it is a perfectly fair and neutral reporting.

On the one hand,she said that there were signs that the infected pigs had polluted the drinking water. And all through the story, there are no clear demonstration except the content of the last paragraph. But we can see from the last paragraph, the scene may not be the reporter or the researcher’s first hand observation. She has no evidence to prove the polluted drinking water theory.

And on the other hand, we think that the reporter has missed an important point of the story. All she wants to do is to show that Chinese government refuses to be helpful in pig diseace control. And she also takes SARS as an example. But she has forgotten that China had successfully keep SARS under control. Maybe the international organizations should give more trust to Chinese experts. But news is not about guess, it needs facts and figures. Providing the details of international aids and letting the readers judge may be better.

In general, we thought the story is quite a successful report. We have learnt that we need facts and figures to back our conclusions. And these sources must be credible. We can’t get informations from someone who are not related to the story.
